Les quelques exemplaires connus dans le monde de cet ami de Lakanal, ex-ami puis pire ennemi de Marat se présentent tous de cette façon, une page de titre, au verso "salmigondi scientifique tel qu'on en faisait l'an 118 après le déluge", puis Lettre de Mathurin Bonace a son cousin Roch Landraverzec paginé 1-2 puis s'interrompant, et un texte paginé 15-16 'imprimé au rue du Petit-Musc sur l'éducation. D'après Bowman, les amis de Cincinnati s'inspirèrent de textes aujourd'hui disparus des collections publiques de Bonace pour leurs projets éducatifs révolutionnaires, mais réservés aux initiés en Amérique. Sa fin est tragique puisqu'il fut découvert déguisé en poulain, harnaché comme tel, mors aux dents, le visage ceint d'oeillères, dans une maison de Sèvres ou se déroulaient des orgies sado-masochistes et maconniques en 1799, auquel il participait en compagnie de sa soeur, Frédérique. L'auteur de romans de flagellations de l'entre-deux guerre, Don Brennus Alera évoquera cette scène dans son roman, Attelages Humains. C'est dit Wanda Bannour, dans son essai Eros Philadelphe, par ces petits romans semi-clandestins des années 20, qu'elle trouva mentionnée pour la première fois, la vie pleine d'excès de Maturin Boniface.
