A big man with a prodigious kicking ability Don Clarke (The Boot) was a dominanat force as the All Black fullback as he played 31 games for the team scoring 207 of the 402 points they amassed. He played his first All Black test in 1956 against the South Africans and continued at the top till the mid-1960s when a knee injury forced his retirement. In all, The Boot played in 226 first class matches, scoring 1851 points. He remains one of the greats of NZ Rugby. His brother Ian, a front row forward, played in many AB matches with him. The book was co-authored by Pat Booth, a leading NZ journalist and author. Signed "Regards Don Clarke" in title page, 194 pages, b/w cartoon frontis by Roy Ullyett, 48 b/w photos including six image sequence showing Clarke's place kick technique. Blue hard covers with gilt spine titles VG+ with light bruising spine extremities, text block excellent with no additional inscriptions.
