Buch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - 'The Mad Mullah of America' is a provocative and scathing exposé that delves into the inner workings of the Ku Klux Klan during its peak influence in the 1920s. Written by Edgar Allen Booth, this investigative work pulls back the curtain on the organization's clandestine activities, focusing on th…e corruption, hypocrisy, and radicalism that defined its leadership. Through a detailed examination of figures such as D.C. Stephenson and the societal forces that allowed such a movement to flourish, Booth provides a firsthand look at a turbulent era in American political and social history.

Buckram. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good Minus. First Edition. Poe, Edgar Allan. Carlyle Straub, Publisher. Devora Lovell (compiler). Dorothy Kissling and Arthur H. Nethercot (editors). MUSE ANTHOLOGY OF MODERN POETRY; POE MEMORIAL EDITION. April 1938., 1938. "DELUXE EDITION" - #656 OF A FIRST EDITION LIMITED T…O 3000 COPIES and also initialed by the publishers (not always found in other copies). 866, [67] pages. H 27.75cm x L 20.25cm. Dark blue cloth, gilt stamped spine lettering and bars, spine with light foxing with short closed tear at head, Tipped-in frontispiece portrait of Poe by Franklin Booth. Indexes with Acknowledgements and Errata on concluding leaves. Magnificent edition of Poe's work with an anthology of critical essays; the text is divided into seven books (i.e chapters): 1 - POE, COMMENTARY STUDIES, ESSAYS AND POETIC TRIBUTES; 2 - THE POETIC PRINCIPLE, BY EDGAR A. POE and POEMS BY EDGAR A. POE; 3 - LYRICS BY CONTEMPORARY POETS; 4 - SONNETS BY CONTEMPORARY POETS; 5 - QUATRAINS BY CONTEMPORARY POETS; 6 - VERS LIBRE BY CONTEMPORARY POETS; and 7 - ADDENDA which has four mounted facsimiles. The latter includes a fold-out reproduction of "The Raven" manuscript in Poe's hand, a reproduction of an 1845 letter in Poe's hand, a fold-out facsimile of the initial "The Evening Mirror" publication of "The Raven," and a fold-out facsimile of the initial "The American Review" (first magazine appearance). This copy has also has a tipped in reproduction of "Eulalie" in Poe's hand (not found in All copies). This book is in great shape, even the page edges still have the tiny paper shavings attached that usually come off after the page edges are cut at the press (this shows the newness of the book and that it has been rarely handled). Some pages are unopened. What also makes this particular copy most desireable is the fact that the previous owner was Frances Lance Ferrero whose poem was published in the book itself ("The Duomo and The Star) on page 658, and whose name is also mentioned in the back of the book (Index). Ferrero also typed "A Book Review for C. S. (Carlyle Straub the publisher) and D ("D" is probably for Devora Lovell, the Compiler)." of which the original comes with the book, there is also a hand-written review with some corrections from the authors own hand on special watermarked paper. I don't know whether or not this review came with other copies of the book or not. It was written in June of 1938. Also accompanying this book is a full-page Bio on the illustrator Franklin Booth. All in all this a very nice copy with alot of association material/ephemera. The dustjacket, although complete has it's share of chipping and tears. There has been a professional mend to repair a full length seperationof the front and rear dj panels. The DJ is now housed in a protective wrapper. Extra postage for this 6 1/2 lb. book. Booth, Franklin (illustrator). By Publisher.
