Dust Jacket Condition: dj. First Edition. [Drama] FIRST EDITION. Octavo (20 x 14cm), pp.128. Publisher's green cloth lettered in gilt to spine, with the typographic dust-jacket. Spotting to preliminaries and endpapers, previous owner's name stamped to front paste-down, jacket price-clipped, 2cm tear to jacket backstrip and two tears to front panel, sunning to backstrip. Very good. This play later is presented by Laurence Olivier and the Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust. This interpretation proves to be a success with one critic stating it was 'the play of the year'. This play also serves as the inspiration for the 1959 film 'Season of Passion' directed by Leslie Norman, and starring Ernest Borgine (as Roo) and Anne Baxter (as Olive).
