Blue-grey wrappers housed in folding cloth & paper covered portfolio. Light foxing to some pages; wear and rubbing to portfolio; a very good copy. No copies found in institutions of this title with the 48 etchings, scarce thus. 23 etchings depict Venetian costumes; 24 depict Triestini costumes; and 1 plate not indicated. An unusual collection of etchings by Bosa, showing, in excellent detail, Italians in Venice and Trieste wearing picturesque clothing particular to their trade, each one wielding the necessary tools for daily use. Bosa (1807-1875) was a Venetian artist, best known for his illustrative work of daily life, often ".humorous, curious, even satirical, full of whimsical details that earned him the title of Goldoni of Venetian painting.".
