Le "Sanglier des Ardennes" mena une vie d'aventures, souvent au service du roi de France Louis XI ; arrêté dans une embuscade, il sera décapité à Maastricht le 18 juin 1485. La première partie (61 pp.) est consacrée au récit proprement dit, la seconde partie est composée de nombreuses "notes historiques".
