rigide. Condition: Bon. 1 vol. in-8 reliure de l'époque demi-veau violet, dos lisse orné en long, Eugène Renduel, Paris, 1832, frontispice, VI pp., 1 f., 384 pp. et 2 ff. n. ch. Rarissime exemplaire de l'édition originale, publiée chez Renduel, le célèbre éditeur des grands écrivains du Romantisme, en 1832. Paul Jean François Bounin, dit Polydore Bounin (1806-1876) se fit remarquer lors de sa scolarité au Lycée de Marseille, par ses brillants succès en rhétorique et en philosophie. Il quittera bientôt Marseille pour commercer aux Indes néerlandaises. Un de ses poèmes, publié en 1838, aurait inspiré Baudelaire pour "L'Albatros". Bon état (rel. un peu frottée, marge du frontispice très lég. frottée, belle fraîcheur intérieure) pour cet ouvrage introuvable de belle provenance : de la bibliothèque du bibliophile marseillais Albert Pascal (1811-1882) avec son ex-libris (l'agneau pascal portant Saint Jean Baptiste avec la devise Immaculatus). A propos du frontispice, Champfleury écrira : "Non pas que les Poésies et Poèmes de Polydore Bounin aient fortement marqué ; mais la vignette qui représente une femme assassinée dans un cloître ombreux dénote de bonnes intentions" !
