Ethel Tigue, the daughter of Finnish immigrants, is a homemaker, freelance writer, and layout artist, in that order. She has been a teacher, counselor, and editor. In 1959, her first adult novel was published. Three years later one of her manuscripts won the $1,000 Mc-Knight Foundation Award. A graduate of Minnesota State Teachers' College in Duluth, Mrs. Tigue is married to a high school counselor. They have two sons.
