"Some Aspects of Portuguese Influence in Japan, 1542-1640" covers the Portuguese presence from first contact to the expulsion. "Jan Compagnie in Japan, 1672-1674" follows the Dutch East India Company's trade in Japan. "Hosokawa Tadaoki and the Jesuits, 1587-1645" looks at how one daimyo dealt with the missionaries. Material on Japanese settlers in Malacca in 1614-1615 is also included, and the book has illustrations.…
