With inner and outer gilt borders to both boards enhanced at the corners by gilt flourishes. The binding turns in with the same though smaller flourishes with marbled endpapers. With the half-title present and six hand colored plates of University costumes, regalia and a street fight. Woodcut portrait of Jemmy Gordon is present, un-colored. The lovely "Quite Unexpected" plate is present. Some very minor occasional spotting to text and a hint of offsetting from the plates. A lovely volume and wonderfull association copy for Cambridge Alumni. [10], 131, [1] pp. Laid out alphabetically like a dictionary, this volume offers humerous commentary on scholastic life in Cambridge.
