The author's first work of fiction, first published in India in 1902 and then in London in1907. In this copy the title page is an undated cancel, and mentions the author's second book (An American Girl in India, 1907). It is probably a late issue of the 1907 edition with a new title page: COPAC gives a date of 1913. A collection of ironic tales and sketches, set in the Indian town of Slumpannagur. Scarce. Book.
