ALL UK PARCELS SENT TRACKED! ALL OVERSEAS PARCELS SENT AIRMAIL, TRACKED! (S/hand, Paperback, 1990). (1923) ND (1990s) 1st edition thus. Small 8vo paperback (129 x 197mm). Pp96. Not illustrated. Usual slight browning and spine-fading but a good-plus second-hand paperback. Originally titled "Fishing Vignettes: Being Extracts from a Diary and Other Fragments 1875 to 1922" (Home Words, London 1923), this is a reprint of slightly less than half of those extracts, which was issued with Trout & Salmon Magazine in their Forgotten Gems Series. The text covers mostly Norwegian, Scottish and Irish salmon fishing around the turn of the century as well as a certain amount of interesting autobiographical material. This edition is an inexpensive way of obtaining at least part of what is, in the first edition, costly and hard to find. .

Printed for private circulation only, the author of this scarce volume was a keen cricketer, being a joint-founder of the Hampstead Nondescripts, and enjoyed shooting in England and Scotland; but fishing was his main passion, and the major part of this book describes his experiences on the Isle of Lewis and elsewhere and recounts A Tale of The Hebrides Salmon (in a contribution by W.A. Everington). Small 8vo. 127pp. Portrait frontispiece. Orig. cloth gilt. Foxing to early pages and edges of others. A good copy. Scarce. Signed by the author to front free-endpaper. [Cox, 38].
