Apresenta dois ex-libris manuscritos sobre a página de rosto (muito leves e sem afectar a apresentação gráfica da página): o 1º ex-libris parcialmente ilegível e rasurado "Pertence a la libreria de los de los Augustinhos Descalços de Vall[.?]"; o 2º ex-libris "Fr. Manuel de [.?] es de los Aug.º Descalcos de Madrid,1610". 1ª edição de uma obra muito rara impressa por Manuel Lyra na cidade de Évora, muito provavelmente na própria Universidade de Évora, fundada pelos jesuítas no século XVI. Lyra imprimiu também a famosa edição dos Lusíadas conhecida como edição dos Piscos. Obra com dedicatória do autor ao cardeal Odoardo Farnesio, bisneto do rei D. Manuel I de Portugal, contém também o elogio fúnebre do autor por Fernando Rebelo S.J., Chanceler da Universidade de Évora, no qual se refere que o autor faleceu durante a impressão da obra e ainda um poema em louvor do autor de Manuel Pimenta S.J. famoso Poeta. As licenças da Inquisição foram assinadas por Fr. Manuel Coelho, a licença do Arcebispo de Évora D. Teotónio [de Bragança], a licença do desembargo do Paço dada por Damião de Aguiar, entre outros, e a licença do Provincial da Companhia de Jesus por Cristóvão de Gouveia. Dissertação ou comentário exegético sobre a interpretação da Bíblia e, em particular, da sua parte mais mística e simbólica: o Apocalipse. É uma extensíssima obra com interpretações do Apocalipse de São João Evangelista e o estudo das palavras e das frases hebraicas, apresentando capítulos sobre o Anticristo. A obra também faz referência à História da Europa da sua época. O Padre Braz Viegas foi um jesuíta português, nascido em Évora em 1554, e a sua obra ainda hoje é reconhecida como uma leitura válida.
