    Two novels bound together: "The Bad Boy" is a late 19th century novel, written in Kentucky dialect with cultural stereotypes and language; The Annie Gibbs novel is a romance, is not listed separately in OCLC but listed in The American Bookseller journal 1890. -- Previous owner's gift note is dated 1897. Illustrated with drawings. -- Nice hardcover, black design stamped on red cloth. Condition: very good (printed on inferior paper and one page torn, no loss of text). -- John Musick was publisher of a Kirksville, Missouri newspaper and an attorney. His papers are at Truman State University.
