Decent clean firm interior for the age with only one or two very slight age marks, contains a b&w f/p photo of the author, inscription to front e/paper, does show some age/shelfwear with a very rough-cut edge to pages, p.221 chipped to edge of border, 223 has uncut/rough border, page block dulled/toned, toned to e/papers, boards have rubs to coth at corners and slightly to spine tips, a few speck marks to rear but decent appearance mostly with bright gilt-lettering to spine and small picture to front, all tight and firm./.

Tall octavo (23 cm) in green publisher's cloth, gilt decorations and titles; frontispiece (photo of the author), eighteen illustrations including watercolours by the author. Bromley was an accomplished watercolourist as evidenced by the plates ('Cavendish Bridge on the River Trent', 'The Dam- Monsal Dale', 'The River Greet above Southwell', 'Upper Monsal Dale', 'The Derbyshire Wye'). Corners a bit rubbed. Clean, bright, and sound.
