Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Published in Leicester in 1917, this is the first Edition of this scarce ad sought after children's tale of Witches, Witchcraft, Fairies, Giants, and Flying Broomsticks, in a world with some similarities to Harry Potter. The book is bound in the original pictorial cloth depicting the three children riding broomsticks above the forest. Internally the book is well illustrated with twelve full page plates, and drawings within the text, just over 8 inches tall, 214 pages. The covers have some mild rubbing wear, light marking, some edge bumps and edge rubbing wear, internally endpapers foxed and browned, the front free blank endpaper has been removed (see pictures) probably to excise an old ownership name. there is noticeable foxing on and off throughout the book, mainly restricted to page margins, else in good acceptable condition.
