First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. This catalogue and exhibit of Robert Frank's work was organized by the Houston Museum of Fine Arts. The exhibit traveled from the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston to Cleveland Museum of Art, The Minneapolis Institute of Art, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the University Art Museum of California at Berkley. The front flap indicates there are 21 duotone, 5 halftones, and 4 color illustrations included in this 112 page volume. The boards are covered in a dark blue cloth and have light gray lettering on the spine. The book is approximately 9 1/4 by 12 1/4 inches. There is some wear to the front board, e.g. some color loss, but the spine ends remain stiff and edges minimally worn. The dust jacket has several tears at the bottom edge of the front panel and wear at the bottom edge to the front flap fold. There is also a tear at the top edge of the back panel. The back panel also presents as soiled and there is a vertical line near the spine area the front cover which shows color loss from head to foot to the blue, red and yellow areas-it appears to be in the vicinity of the hinge and may be a result of opening the book. The dust jacket is currently protected by a clear removable cover. Internally, this book is clean, bright, and without marks, previous owners' names, or damage to any of the pages. The edges remain bright white. Please look at images of the book carefully, thank you.
