Print. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. 1st edition. A Very Good lithograph. Hand colored lithograph; image size 7 7/8 x 9 7/8 inches, in a mid-20th century wood frame with glaze. The paper is lightly toned, with the hand coloring a bit sunned. Still, a Very Good print. *** A commemorative lithograph celebrating the centennial , printed in 1876, with over a dozen cities depicted in the series. The lithograph shows view of the city in the shape of a shield, in which people are boating on the river. The side vignettes show slaves transporting cotton, and working as coopers. Atop the shield is a banner reading, "Georgia". Below the vignettes is a banner, reading "City Of Savannah", and below that a small circular with an arch reading "Constitution". Lower right: "H J. Toudy & Co. steam lith". Lower left: "Designed by W. H. Brotherhead". Lithograph is simply hand-colored, using red and yellow water colors, and framed in a plain wood frame. ***.
