Otherwise fine. The dust jacket is frayed, with a bit of loss, at the spine ends and corners. Scuffed, with short tears, along the joints. The spine is darkened and scuffed. This copy with a very nice inscription on the half title, 'For Lincoln Brower, with many thanks and best wishes, Bert Holldobler. 1994. Brower himself has made some notes, mostly a list on the title page noting how many lines/words per page, and an unlabeled chart. On page 25, the authors make reference to their Pulitzer Prize winning book Ants, Brower has underlined and written in the margin 'Note: NOT a popular book.'
