Covers worn and fragile at extremities with chips and small losses. Front eps cracked. Textblock tanned but otherwise clean and tight. A delightful though fragile period handbook including Lifebuoy Soap's 12 Golden Rules for Healthy Homes.

Condition: Spine titles faded, tear top and bottom of spine + remains of an old sticker half way down spine. Wear on edges + corners where board showing. Top of illust front a black 141. o/p cracked down seam making whole binding wobbly. o/p dedication dated 1896. Next half title page in period ink writing: Charminster Women's Institute Library. Following blank page foxed, then frontis all of which loose from binding. Some fox spots + faint pencil ticks underlining. Pages all there but needs some renovation work on binding. Outer page edges collectively discoloured with age. Readable but obviously had heavy wear. Fair condition.

No date printed - inscription to front e/paper dated April 1924 - clean firm interior generally for the age but with several faint age marks to borders here and there, faint foxing specks to prelims and to rear e/papers, contains a b&w f/p and five further plates, toned/dulled to closed edge of pages; boards have average shelfwear, title rubbed/faded to top front as shown - lettering and picture clear and to spine, faint shelfwear marks to rear but all intact and tight and decent appearance overall./.
