In unsigned fine binding of pebbled calf, intricate gilt decorations to covers, all edges gilt. 1855 and 1943 presentation inscriptions for high marks at school front end page. Very Good, rubs to boards at edges, scattered light toning throughout. The chapter on "The History of Mount Blanc" contains a history of the ascents up to 1852, the most recent to publication that of J.D.H Browns and Alfred Goodall in 1852, the 42nd ascent recorded.
