Er verliess das Glarnerland, wurde auf Jahrmärkten bis nach London als Attraktion herumgereicht und schliesslich von Friedrich dem Grossen für dessen Armee angeworben. Thut starb 1784 in Wien, wo man ihn sofort sezierte und bis heute sein Porträt in der Österreichischen Nationalbibliothek aufbewahrt.…
