A collection of 8 essays by 5 authors from the history of the river to its noted angling for huge salmon. The text is both in English and Norwegian appearing in parallel columns. Accompanied by stunning period photographs of tremendous salmon catches. "One of the best river (sic) in Norway for salmon and sea trout is the Laerdal River, known for the noble art of angling. Among anglers it is often called the Queen of Rivers." There were two printings of this title, one in cloth and the other in leather. Both are extremely hard-to-find. The OCLC locates but one copy at the University of New Hampshire at Durham. This copy with the bookplate of noted salmon angler and author, Ronald Swanson. Interestingly, he added marginal notes to some of the photos and passages either as corrections or sharing some personal insights. "A Norway salmon rarity." (Wood: Bibliotheca Salmo Salar #6).
