This is vol 1 of what would look like a 2 vol publication as the prospectus that accompanies this volume tells us that there is 10 parts to the history and according to it 5 are in this volume. Quarto. Pp, viii, 9-144. Plates and fold out Pedigree's correct. Original cloth with slightly faded gilt motif and title to front cover.Top edge gilt. Spine has been relaid at some time and cover slightly shelf worn . A loose 4 leaf prospectus accompanies this item. No date present but one of the two previous owners inscription on the free front endpaper states 1918. I can only find 3 other volumes on Copac all volume 1 so perhaps volume 2 was never completed.
