Signed
paperback. Condition: good. Paramount Films, 200 pages, July, 1937, bound in two staples, no cover (as issued), signed in ink on the cast page by director Cecil B. DeMille and actors Anthony Quinn, Frederic March, Franciscka Gaal, Akim Tamiroff, Beulah Bondi, and Jack Hubbard. Note: Cecil B. DeMille's swashbuckling film was a fictionalized account of General Andrew Jackson's recruitment of the pirate Jean Lafitte to fight for America during the War of 1812. In 1958 DeMille attempted a remake of the film starring Yul Brenner and Charlton Heston but became seriously ill on the set, delegating the task of "directing" to his son-in-law, Anthony Quinn, who had starred in the original. It was the only time in his career that Quinn ever received a motion picture credit for directing. It was also the very last film made by DeMille, who died four weeks after the film's release. Condition: usual toning (as should be expected) with dark bold signatures. Loosely placed inside a leather binder for safer handling.
