Stiff vellum, with faint period title at head of spine and more recent leather label beneath. Soiling and chipping to title page, occasional unobtrusive tideline. Binding is sound.

Condition: Very Good. Early Edition. Orignal vellum cover with title and printing year written on the spine. Very minor wear to the title page obscure a few letters. Stamp of a previous owner on the inside cover. Text is clean and clear. The binding holds tight. Indications on front and back cover of straps present but straps are missing. Translated into Latin verse while Buchanan was in prison in Protugal, his translation of the Psalms was and is considered a masterpiece of Latin verse and was significantly influential for centuries after completion.
