The postcard was sent by the leading Hungarian social democrat politician Manó Buchinger (18751953), from the 1913 convention of the Social Democratic Party at Jena to his brother-in-law, Ármin Ladányi and his family. Besides him the postcard is signed by Karl Liebknecht (18711919; German socialist politician), Clara Zetkin (18571933; German socialist politician and advocate of women's right), Karl Kautsky (18541938; Czech-Austrian Marxist political thinker and journalist), Eduard Bernstein (18501932; German social-democratic Marxist politician), Keir Hardie (18561915; Scottish trade unionist and politician), and Camille Huysmans (18711968; Belgian socialist politician); four signatures remain undeciphered. .
