Brown cloth boards lettered in gilt at front qand spine, gilt faded. Boards scuffed, sll edges rubbed, corners bumped and worn to boards. Hinges good, binding cracked at title page, but holding, binding otherwise stable.

Leather spine decorations created specifically for volumes I through V attached to back cover.

Colour frontis. of the human body, which folds out in three sections, with more folding organs, etc., in perfect condition. Colour and black & white plates throughout. No date, possibly 1920s or 30s. (There is a section on gas attack which references its banning under the Geneva Convention - 1925). Interesting section on the "science" of phrenology. Very light foxing sporadically, but a remarkably well-preserved set.
