The cover has brown cloth with goldtone letters and a vignette. 380 pages; 31 chapters; new Introduction by the author. The top end of the text block is brown; the other two ends have darkened. The pages are tanned. The gutters have spots of darker cloth, perhaps caused by the binder's glue. DJ: The publisher's title list on the reverse side has 210 titles. Six closed tears are 1/4 in. to 2 in. (on a fold). Seven chips are 1/16 in. to 3/8 in. All panels, except the flaps, have darkened and have small, rubbed spots. The back panel has foxing.
