144pp. Many contemporary colour & b/w plates, maps, appendices., bibliography, index and full-page colour reproductions of recruiting posters. A previous owner has impressed their name on the title page, otherwise no writing, no underlining and no highlighting. Unclipped dust jacket. No signs of handling. Basically, excellent. This book looks at the origin and development of the SS units as well as the recruitment of the Dutch Legion, Flemish Legion, Danish Legion and the Norwegian Legion which recruited from the Germanic citizens of those countries. They basically signed up to fight the Russians, not the allies, not that that helped them after the German defeat. All SS were tarred with the same brush.
