Hardback. Size approx 9.5 x 6.5 inches. In brown cloth with dark brown lettering and design on spine and front. Decorative floral endpapers. In very good condition. Corners and edges bumped. Some rubbing to edges. Nicks to ends of spine, bottom end chipped. Spine heavily darkened, some darkening around edges of boards. Old repaired split to cloth at front spine edge. Bookplate to front endpaper ?L. R. Jones.? and neat inscription after front endpaper ?Arthur Brown, Newcastle.? Endpapers cracked between hinges. Inside pages all very clean and tight throughout. Else a very clean and tight copy. 405pp; Illustrated with 25 b&w full-page plates. Many smaller illustrations within text. (by Whymper.)
