Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. An epic story that moves with force, passion, and authority, Balance of Power begins when President Kerry Kilcannon and television journalist Lara Costello at last decide to marry. But the momentous occasion is followed by an unspeakable tragedy-a massacre of innocents by gunfire-that ignites a…high-stakes game of politics and legal maneuvering in the Senate, the courtroom, and across the country, which the charismatic but untested young President is determined to win at any cost. But in the incendiary clash over gun violence and gun rights, the cost to both Kilcannons may be even higher than he imagined. This pamphlet, written by Stephen Hopkins and published in 1765, was one of the earliest works to articulate the grievances of the American colonies against the British government. Hopkins was a prominent patriot and signer of the Declaration of Independence, and this document reflects the growing sentiment among colonists that they were being unfairly taxed and oppressed by the Crown. A clean very presentable copy.

Soft cover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. See photos for condition details. Softcover, original 1927 magazine style publication and not a modern reprint. The first page states this edition covers patented numbers 1,647,119 to 1,647,976. The exterior front cover is in very good condition but the reason for the low condition grade… is there are some dampstains on the exterior page edge and also the rear cover that extends in quite a few pages, although the staining is along the edges, mainly the upper outside corner area where there is also some very faint ripple. There are no library markings, no handwriting etc.

No handwriting found, no library markings etc. Pages are toned but clean, with the exception of the first page which is darkened in the lower outside corner area because of the creases on the front cover exposing it. Soft cover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. See photos for condition details. Softcover, original 1912 magazine style publication and not a modern reprint or a rebound series. The first page states this is vol. 180, no. 1, and covers patented numbers 1,030,856 to 1,031,679. The exterior shows quite a bit of toning, soiling, and ch…ips and tears, particularly to the corners and spine. There is a small notation written in pencil at the top, which should be able to be erased, if desired. This is the only handwriting found in the book, there are no library markings or anything else found. The pages do show various degrees of toning and spotting/smudge marks, but the interior binding is still strong. The staples do show some rusting in the covers are separating a bit at the edges but the interior binding is good. Some of the pages have corner chips and folds, which appear to be caused by just corner bumps and not from page marking.

Condition: New. 2003 N & M Press reprint of 1861 original Edition . SB. 232pp 67plans. On 20 April 1861 the Civil War in the United States opened with the capture of Norfolk Navy Yard by the Confederate forces from the South, and the war raged for four more years, with, as usual, the greater number of casualties being among the…infantry. Infantry battle tactics were determined at the time by the firearms with which they were issued, and the main infantry weapon was the Springfield rifle musket. This muzzle loaded weapon was slow to fire, and marginally accurate, even with the new Minie ball: this meant that the tactics on the field of battle were almost unchanged from those of the Napoleonic wars, fought fifty years previously. This book shows how such evolutions (they were little more than drills) at battalion level were adapted and used to enable commanders to deliver the weight of their firepower on to the enemy. All the prescribed manoeuvres could be practised on the drill square, so that once the men were in battle, all they had to do was obey orders, present their weapons and fire. Of course, all the drills in the world do not prevent panic, and records show that despite all the training, some men reloaded their weapons so many times without firing that the weapons were rendered useless. The book is extremely well illustrated with 67 plates of all the movements in plan form.
