This book delves into the rich tapestry of the 16th century, shedding light on the remarkable rise of the Welser family, prominent merchants who left an enduring mark on European history. The author traces the family's journey from their humble beginnings in Augsburg to their ascent as international power brokers. Through meticulous research, the book explores the Welsers' innovative business practices, their pivotal role in financing the exploration of the Americas, and their complex relationship with the Habsburg dynasty.
