    Condition: Fine. Unframed painting of Everett Ruess by artist Fred Calleri. Oil on canvas. Painting measures 11 x 14 inches. Titled "E. Ruess" with Calleri's signature and date "2011" in the left corner. This image was originally commissioned by Northern Arizona's Mountain Living Magazine, where Calleri worked, as the cover for the October 2011 issue. Fine condition. The youthful face of Everett Ruess is portrayed in Calleri's "quirky distortion" style. Everett Ruess, poet and artist, went off to explore the deserts of southern Utah in the early 1930s. He disappeared in November, 1934. The artist of this painting, Fred Calleri, has artwork in at least six galleries in the United States and has been featured in many Southwestern magazines.

Ruess" on the painting with Calleri's signature and date "2011" in the left corner. The artist titled the painting "Southwest Mystery" although this is not noted on the painting itself. This painting was originally commissioned by Northern Arizona's Mountain Living Magazine, where Calleri worked, for an article in the October 2011 issue. It ended up not being used in the magazine.
