Boards good condition original yellow publisher's cloth binding stamped in gilt to the front board with blind tooled border and the same design to the rear blind stamped only. Page edges good condition gauffered page edges, all gilt, top edge slightly darkened. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition the paper has a small crack down the front hinge but it is intact, rear hinge sound, after the end paper both hinges (front and rear) are stained but holding. Paste downs good condition red paste downs, the rear paste down has the small bookseller's ticket of Leighton & Son. End papers good condition red end papers, free end papers are tanned and foxed. Title good condition decorative title page, lightly tanned with some foxing. Pages good condition half title page has a previous owners signature along the top edge dated 1854, the text on each page is contained within engraved borders, pages are lightly tanned with some foxing.
