Soft Covers. Condition: VG+. No Jacket. Photos, Sketches (illustrator). 1st. Charles Cameron noted in his preface that although settlers from Scotland had contributed much to the preservation of Scottish culture in theTauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty area little had previously been record about their influence in the didtrict. In his history the author identifiues the arrival in 1893 of the Lochhead famiyl as the starting point for his work. More Scots settlers arrived in the early 1900s and the authoir traces the development of Scottish influence up tp 1982 through activities and organsoiations such as pipe bands, Scottish dancing, the pipes and drums of the Hauraki Regiment, the Clan Cameron Society, a Scottish orchestra and the Tauranga Scottish Country Dance Club. His book was a fitting conclusion to his own part in the success of these organisations. 96 pages, b/w photos throughout, some sketches. Blue card covers with art/pictorial covers VG+, ditto the text block, no inscriptions.
