"Il collezionista di città" è un maniaco letteratissimo e raffinatissimo che si muove ossessivamente da una città all'altra per catturare l'anima dei luoghi, trafiggerla con lo spillo e metterla in un album per mostrarla all'amico lettor…e. Perlustra chiese e osterie, boutique e palazzi in compagnia di amiche il più possibile vive e amici meglio se defunti, ad esempio Piovene, Comisso, D'Annunzio. Il suo tragitto non è il Milano-Napoli del classico Grand Tour ma un eccentrico Parma-Potenza che fa vibrare tutte le sue più intime corde provinciali e borboniche. Poi naturalmente gli tocca fare i conti con Roma ma è evidente che si intenerisce di più per la Romagna e in generale per l'Italia profonda delle piazze immobili. Considera esclusivamente i centri storici perché le periferie sono uguali dappertutto, evitando con cura i monumenti famosi, inquinati dai turisti e dai piccioni (qualche problema con Venezia, quindi). Spesso ciò che vede lo delude o lo indigna ma gli basta un Negroni ben confezionato per fare pace con il luogo. Tanto per chiarire, o per confondere ulteriormente le idee, Il collezionista di città in parte è l'autore, in parte è colui che l'autore sogna di essere. Libro.

Un catechismo epistolare scritto con stile completamente diverso dal catechismo ufficiale. Smontando col Vangelo alla mano qualche vecchio pregiudizio…, ad esempio che la religione cattolica sia sessuofobica, il volume dimostra quanto la parola di Cristo, in forma scritta nel Nuovo Testamento e in forma orale, musicale e teatrale nella messa, sia indispensabile per vivere liberi. Perché lo Spirito che si fa carne valorizza sia l'anima che il corpo, reclamando dignità per la persona nella sua interezza: Gesù, secondo l'autore, non si atteggiava ad asceta, frequentava donne chiacchierate, offriva il vino e non era neanche vegetariano. Sono tante le domande, i dubbi e gli interrogativi che in tanti si pongono di fronte alla religione e Langone risponde in modo brillante e divertente con dotta devozione. Numero pagine 158.
