Racconto, uscito ad Amsterdam nel 1937, della morte di Luigi II di Baviera che, parrebbe, assalì il suo medico e annegò con lui nel lago di Starnberg . Kl…aus Heinrich Thomas MANN, il secondogenito di Thomas Mann, fu uno scrittore di valore, benché oscurato dalla fama del padre; omosessuale e bersaglio del pregiudizio, lasciò la Germania nel 1933, e nel 1934 scrisse il primo romanzo contro il Nazismo; privato della cittadinanza tedesca, nel 1936 emigrò negli USA e ne divenne cittadino nel 1943; si arruolò tra i 101.000 Ritchie Boys ebrei e tedeschi, conoscitori nativi della lingua e mentalità tedesca, istruiti sui metodi di guerra psicologica, per studiare il nemico e demoralizzarlo. Morì suicida, per overdose di barbiturici.
