Early work by the writer and broadcaster Hollings, author for example of 'Welcome to Mars'. 'Theory' 'deals with the new literary/artistic form of performance, analysing how shifts in cultural perception demand radical changes in the relationship between writer, text and audience'. Hollings had been working since 1973 with electronics, sound and performance art; he co-founded the 188W resources group, and had recently joined the Biting Tongues group to perform live concerts and make films. He writes: 'I am only concerned that the statements and illustrations used in this text be used to provoke thought and experimentation. In order to achieve this, the text's structure relies upon fragmentation and the controlled drift: the compositional process confronts the thought patterns of the reader.' Attractively printed in blue on white stock. Very Good, slightly creased around the spine, with a small, unobtrusive scuff to the lower wrapper, and a gentle bend to the upper corner.
