Magazine / Periodical First Edition
Wraps. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. An early issue of this unique newsprint magazine (founded, edited and published by an American who moved to Cape Breton and fell in love with the place) which first saw the light of day in the early 1970s. The magazine features articles current and historical on a variety of subjects best described as eclectic, all related in one way or another to Cape Breton, its history and its residents. This one contains articles on the rum-running days in the area, four Acadian stories (in French), a Micmac legend ("Taken-From-Guts"), common lichens of Cape Breton, a shipwreck at Little Lorraine and more. These early issues can be very difficult to find, and due to their size, the fragility of the paper and the stapling, are usually quite worn. 32 pages, illustrated w/photographs and drawings. Moderate general wear. Magazine.
