Il prenait en tout cas fermement le parti des Irlandais et contient une critique très virulente du traitement anglais de l'Irlande.L'ouvrage demeurera le plus lu des productions de Jean-Gabriel Capo ou Cappot de Feuillide (1800-1863), issu d'une famille de la petite noblesse de la province d'Armagnac, et perpétuel besogneux littéraire.
