No Binding. Condition: Very Good. In Aug. 1948, Captain Charles Strom was selected with (18) other USAF Catholic fliers & WAFs to participate in the first bi-annual International Pilgrimage of Airmen. Representatives of Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, France, Holland, England, and the US gathered at ceremonies at the Lourdes memorial to fliers killed during World War II. Capt. Strom describes in vivid detail the memorial event in his 5-page, typed and single-spaced letter to his parents-- all about the people, emotions, humor, drama, the pomp. Through his letter and (100) snapshots, magazine feature & other items, Charles Strom's exhilaration at participating in this first ever Allied Aviators' memorial event is palpable. Majority of snapshots are 3"x4" (some larger and smaller). Excellent collectible condition. Photographic Image.
