Inscribed by the author: "To Dear Uncle Herbert / With affectionate greetings / from the Author / Lance J Niblett / 8 7/31" on the front pastedown. The frontispage has a photograph of Niblett affixed with photograph corners. The front pastedown also has a press-clipping from the "Natal Witness" (Pietermaritzburg) reporting that Niblett roller-skated 6000 feet down the Kumaon Himalayas, from Naini Tal to Kathgodam (in heavy rain and mist) - a journey fraught with hairpins and hazards! The spine has been repaired with a leather strip. The boards are grubby and worn. They have wear, marks, scuffing, storage stains. They are placid and benign and steady. The contents are mildly aged. They are flushed with foxing. However, the contents are also comfortable, contented, certain, clean, clear, convivial, keen.
