Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Tatty but still readable copy of 'The Sixth Gordons in France and Flanders (With the 7th and 51st Divisions)', by Captain D. Mackenzie, with a Foreword by Lieutenant-General Sir G. M. Harper. It was published for the War Memorial Committee by the Rosemount Press in 1921 and is presumed first. It has a number of black and white plates. Buff cloth-covered boards with bevelled edges, no jacket. The head and tail of the spine and the corners and edges of the covers are rubbed and worn. The boards are very soiled and worn - they have red splodges and what looks like a damp-affected area where the cloth has lifted. The front endpapers have been cut out. The pages are browned, with fingermarks and reading-related creases scattered throughout. The page edges are dustmarked and browned. The front inner hinge has cracked, and the spine is shaken, so the binding is slack, but still holding by the linen and rear eps. Those defects aside, this is a very scarce title, the textblock is intact and the text and plates still clear and legible, so Fair overall. Approx. 8 x 10 inches. This is a heavy book and will require additional P&P. Additional images available on request.
