A regimental diary of the 9th Queen"s Royal Lancers during the Second Boer War, covering the regiment"s service in South Africa from 1899 to 1902. The 9th Lancers were heavily engaged in the South African campaign, including the relief of Kimberley and later operations across the Orange River Colony, Transvaal, and Cape Colony. With a presentation label to the front pastedown: "Presented to Capt. A. A. East, 3024, as a Memento of the War by the Officers of the Regiment." An interesting first hand regimental history, based on the private journals of two 9th Queen"s Royal Lancers officers. In the publisher's original cloth binding.Externally, smart.
