The Way Out: A Kiwi Escapes in Italy A memoir by New Zealander Captain Malcolm J. Mason. SCARCE. Publisher: Published by Paul's Book Arcade Ltd (Hamilton) and Caxton Press (Christchurch) in 1946. 218 pages, including 5 illustrations and a map. Good hardback with no jacket, buff cloth boards are marked, rubbed, bumped chipped and frayed with some patchy fading, no inscriptions, small tear to paper at front paste down, rear end-paper removed, minor marks to pages. It is considered a notable account of WWII New Zealand prisoners of war (POWs) on the run in Europe.
