Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Original boards rebacked in calf and with new corners. Contrasting spine label: 'Post-Roads to Edinb' with letters a little wonky. Spine slightly offset. Book label for St Andrew Ward Esq. to front pastedown over a list of handwritten distances. Handwritten page numbers to each page, in the same copperplate hand as the numerals on the pastedown. First blank near detached. Map opposing title page with further distance numbers added. All pages and maps present but again with a few having additional notes added. Pages toned, consistent with age and some offsetting. St Andrew Ward Esq. was a landowner of a property named Hooton Pagnell: he is mentioned on page 13 and map 13: 'Hutton Pagnell' 'Ward Esq' (Hutton Pagnell is in the top left corner of map 13). All maps uncoloured. An interesting and uncommon road-book, published by and based on surveys by the author. Further details available on request. (Ud3).…
