Published to commemorate the 180th anniversary of the battle. The text is that of the third edition (1848) augmented by illustrations reproduced from those by George Jones in 'The Battle of Waterloo, with those of Ligny and Quatre-Bras' (1817). Rebound in 3/4 leather with marbled boards and end-pages.  Leather is soiled and rubbed, with small split to top edge of rear gutter, but with gilt on spine still bright. Binding is tight and hinges intact. Internally, a previous owners small bookplate to the inside front board but otherwise pages clean and bright. All 11 folding plates present. Overall, in very good, clean condition.
