Does not affect the illustration. In good condition.

Hardcover. Condition: Very good. First edition. 311; [8]pp. Octavo [19.5 cm] Red cloth covered boards with gilt stamped titles and elaborate embossed patterns on the spine and front cover. Frontispiece portrait by Harold Piffard. The extremities gently bumped and rubbed, the spine is rolled. There are several small cracks in the endsheet along the hinge. The longest crack measures roughly 2" long. The free endsheets are quite darkened. The frontispiece tissue guard and the preliminary and terminal leaves are foxed. In Hubin. An Edwardian mystery, and the author's only book.
