Paperback. Condition: Fair. Harris, Muriel (illustrator). First Edition. 12 pages. Charming illustrations in orange and blue throughout by Muriel Harris. Undated but appears to be circa 1940. Stories and poems include: The Boy on the Raft, Buttercups, Ann and Bill, At the Seaside, Pamela's Books, The Picnic, The Egg and Spoon Race, A Second Slice of Cake, Swinging, and The Sand Castle. Back cover promotes "Little Brown Bears" books and the new "Playways Series". Unmarked. Above-average wear. Two-inch opening along bottom of coverfold with corresponding openings along spine of all pages. Shorter similar openings to top of coverfold. One-inch opening to fore-edge of back cover. A worthy copy of this charming vintage reader.
